Freya Tate is an artist and musician living in Peckham, London. Born in 1994 in Manchester and growing up in Stroud, Gloucestershire, her painting and drawing is centered in a process of experimentation , destructive and constructive energies in mark making and movement.

She is interested in merging a semi-modern punk ethos with traditional forms of art making like drawing the figure from life.  She presents a female perspective and presents joy and freedom in her human forms, this stems from her time working as a life model for a number of years. Through this she explores a deeper awareness and connection to the body both through modelling and making art. This manifests through a sensitivity to the subject’s inner world, its physicality and ability to express in marks and movements.

Freya is fascinated by the textural, tactile, sensual and humorous elements that make up the human experience.
